What will be the main difference between the two?
I understand ATVO is free to use and more customisable but requires more "knowledge"/"effort" to use it?
I'd like to get started with it but is not easy to understand how to get started, can you suggest some good way to start understanding the program?

Yes, I think you gave a good summary. We offer much more customization but at the cost of more effort from your side to make it look nice.
To get started, we offer the ATVO Theme 2020 which is a theme designed in the Theme Editor. You can open it and see how it was made, edit it to your liking or start a fresh theme that uses some of the concepts you can see. For the rest: read through the various tips and tricks in these forums and try to find a couple tutorials on Youtube, some helpful users have made guides in the past!
Have a look at this video. It is a very good tutorial, which explains the basics and how they work very well.
